I’m incredibly lucky to have very supportive parents who have looked out for me during all stages of my transition. We live in a red state with very strict control on HRT for minors(adults too, honestly), so i never really thought I would be able to get on testosterone no matter how much I wanted to.

Me and my parents had that conversation a while ago, and I came away disappointed, but it turns out they didn’t stop trying cause they’re actual fucking superheroes!! The plan is to go out of state to get a prescription in a more trans friendly state, then finding a place that will refill it where I live. I’ll have check ins with the provider frequently, and even better, this is legal so I don’t have to worry about being taken from my parents 🙃

I’m going to have a medical consultation to make sure I’m certain about this decision (which I very much am) and to learn about ALL of the effects, risks, etc. to make sure I’m prepared.

I’ve wanted so badly to take testosterone for years, especially since I’m in high school now and I’m not very convincing as a cis boy that hasn’t gone through puberty yet. Taking testosterone would help me feel so much more comfortable in my body. I‘ve accepted my identity, but of course that hasn’t eliminated my dysphoria entirely.

I just feel so elated and insanely lucky to have a chance like this. I always thought I would go through high school never passing, always uncomfortable in my own skin. I never thought it could actually change this soon.
