I know someone who is like that. Hates small talk with strangers and doing phone calls

But most of the time, these things go surprisingly well and she is happy about her interaction throughout the rest of the day.

Incl small talk with neighbours or when someone comes by to pick up something she put up on FB market place

Most people are nice and friendly

I actually enjoy small talk and love making people laugh when I talk to them. Phone calls though, I'm not sure why, they stress me out so much. I hate making calls and just like OOP and I panic when my phone rings.

Not going into detail because it's too stressful to do this often and without complaint or hate let me just say:

It must be very nice to be neurotypical.

For me/us it's always a dangerous gamble that can easily paralyze you for a day, week or more.

I have to make so many medical calls lately. I hate calling, but my thoughts are "please answer right away so I can get this over with without being on hold for an hour orrr for you to try and shunt me to an ai where I hang up and try again"

I have this odd and old mentality that phone calls are meant to deliver important time critical information.
So picking up the phone, delivering clear and consice information in as few sentences as possible, waiting for the other side to acknowledge that the information was received and understood and then ending the call.

Everything beyond that is just too much off the script and i blank out and go into default receiving mode and answer "ok" or any variation of it to everything.

Nah, they'd better pick up. Otherwise I have to wait for them to call back and that's worse.
