I don't know about that. The Linux community has its own brand of toxic issues too. Try bringing up systemd or rust.

LoL specifically may be for the best. I don't know anyone who got into that game in a healthy way or thought they enjoyed it in retrospect after switching to a new game.

Call of Duty: UO runs fine on Linux if you use an older version of Proton. It’s the best CoD game anyway

What percentage of players even do those competitive things though? Surely you could have an option to turn the orwellian anticheats off for regular players and only enabled for the sweaty wankers competitive players.

Both works well, though Blizzard launcher is a bit wonky from my experience. Something about a process went to sleep.

If you’re launching it from the Battle.net launcher, you can run it through Lutris. I play WoW on Linux just fine.

Fair warning, I’ve run into an issue with the installer before, can’t recall what it was, but I remember I was able to find the solution after googling it real quick. (I’ve done it like twice, once on my computer and once on my steam deck and the second time was a how did I forget kinda moment)

Battle.net has something finicky where you have to run the installer slightly different than normal, but once it’s installed I haven’t had an issue.

The reason those games aren't on Linux is because of horrendous security overreach, and if they did work it would mean something, somewhere has been compromised in order to make that possible. I'm thankful they don't work because the last thing I want is for game devs to have kernel-level access to my machine so they can dictate what I'm allowed to do on my computer.

As an ex league addict I do think that league makes people worse and I hope Riot's CEO will hang.

Not sure what that game is, but there’s a website called Proton DB that tracks what games work on Linux and how well. There’s also Lutris for everything else.
