I recently upgraded from an OG rg35xx to a rg35xx H. I know that we have great options for CFW on the h700, and I have personally tried both knulli and muOS. They are both phenomenal operating systems. I’m running muOS right now. But man, nothing quite scratches my brain like garlic OS does.

it’s the little things that I miss, like the near instant ROM launches, the quick resume with thumbnail images, and the snappy navigation. I love the simplicity of it, while still having options for themes and other customizations. It just feels good.

Maybe I’m just missing some setting in muOS to replicate that same experience. If I am, please let me know.

I don’t mean to discredit the hard work that muOS and Knulli devs have put in to make them truly phenomenal on these devices. They really do blow me away and I am endlessly thankful for a dedicated community that gives us beautiful and feature rich CFWs for free!

I just really miss garlicOS. Theres just something about it.

I've been experimenting on my own patch for for Don't Starve port on Portmaster and this has been the results, seemed to work pretty well

Hey all, I have an RG35XX, the original non-Plus, non-H old version from quite a while back. I got it for £12 at some point on a huge sale. Currently replacing the microSD because the included one crapped out (as I've been told they all do eventually), and putting new firmware on it.

I don't care for the stock OS, but what do I put on it? I previously used it with Stock + GarlicOS, so should I just load GarlicOS 1.4.9? It looks like muOS is still in development for the device, and Koriki/Batocera may be capable of more than Garlic, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone also happen to know if MuOS is compatible with GarlicOS "apps"? A couple of those were very useful.

Edit: Thanks for the responses y'all, I've decided to probably stick with Garlic 1.4.9, but I may use a spare SD cart to give MyMinUI a shot out of curiosity. It does appear MuOS is technically available somewhere for the device as an early dev build.

I did find this ZIP of some updated RG35XX cores (possibly newer than the 1.4.9 cores, but I'd have to cross-check), and this doc has some good information, including getting a few additional cores working. Just trying to get as much as possible out of the device given how little I paid for it, so hope this helps someone too... although I do wish development for the device was still ongoing somewhere ahah
